2019 Positions Available:

Post-harvest Crew

◦Managing product inventories

◦Receiving harvest from the field and ensuring it is properly stored & labeled

◦Daily & weekly record keeping

◦Ensuring food safety measures are consistently implemented

◦Washing, prepping and packing produce for farmers market, wholesale and CSA customers.


This position is great for someone who is organized, works well both independently and with a team, is attentive to details, thinks proactively, and enjoys a work day that is a mix of similar tasks done daily as well as a variety of seasonal tasks and responsibilities that change over the course of the year. Being able to focus on multiple tasks while maintaining quality and an eye for detail is very important.  This is a hands-on position where you will be physically active. Prior experience working on a vegetable farm or with produce in another capacity is helpful but not essential. You do need to be able and willing to work in a variety of temperature environments, stand for most of the day, and be able to bend, stoop and lift 40-50 pounds. Prior training and experience operating manual pallet jacks and fork lifts is a plus.


There are additional opportunities to also work in the field planting, harvesting and weeding.  You’ll also be offered the chance to work one farmers market a month.


This seasonal position is full-time from Mid-April through November. We work Monday-Friday. Typical hours are 7am-4pm. Some days may be longer or shorter depending on the weather and pending work. We strive for 40 hour work weeks and work-life balance. Winter hours are given to those meeting set performance standards and committing to return the following year.

Field Crew - All positions filled

Responsibilities:

◦Seed starting, greenhouse work, transplanting, weeding, mowing, trellising, mulching/laying mulch, pest management, maintaining irrigation, and harvesting. Staff will work daily with our crew leader to accomplish the daily and weekly tasks.

◦Working as a team to accomplish tasks

◦Assist with post-harvest tasks as needed

◦Work one farmers market a month (additional opportunities if interested)

◦Some limited machine operation 


Skills and Qualifications:

- Previous vegetable farm experience preferred

- Attention to detail in a high paced environment

- Must strive for the highest quality standards while working efficiently

- Absolutely must exhibit and maintain a positive and supportive attitude

- Ability to learn new skills and follow directions

- Willingness to work in all weather conditions

- Ability to take initiative, work independently and be forward-thinking.

- Applicants should find satisfaction in physical, dirty, meaningful and productive work.

- Ability to lift 60 lbs repeatedly throughout the day, stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop and reach, work on your hands and knees. This is a physically demanding job.

- Ability to work in any time of weather conditions: extreme heat, rain, and even snow

- Must work one farmers market a month from April-November
